A Note on Beholding
I'm Alannah, the webmaster of this site. For a long time i've been drawn to the ancient, the odd, the unseen, and the obscured: it is not uncommon to see me, nose to the ground, watching a humble millipede trot his mellow path, trailing the pen strokes of an illustration with my finger, or squinting up into the rafters of some high-roofed church. I love what is hard to see. I love what I cannot see. There is a sort of mythology that inhabits each thing, I think, which ignites in us a sense of wonder and houses an irrevocable truth about the world. Here I hope to create a domain in which to display these beauties through creations and observations: both my own and other's. In a world drowned in the waters of despair and drenched to the bone in disillusionment, I have found it an utmost necessity to create and behold- what else am I to do?
